Doc Shapiro and Lead Dispencer have developed a cowboy action shooting forum called "World Records". On their web sites, you will find impressive, individual, single gun records. On the World Roundup Scenarios site the World Record Stage is available to be set up and shot as a main match stage.
Tex, SASS#4, has called us to Smart Stage Design and cowboy action shooting that is more than just a speed contest.
Combining those two complementary aspects, this site contains the tools and result display for your local club to participate in shooting a whole standardized four gun stage with clubs all over the world. Results received from each participating club are compiled and displayed here to see how we compare to others, world wide, shooting the exact same stage.
Participation in World Roundup Scenarios is like going to an international shoot without leaving town. Join the fun competing with pards world wide! (See Procedure below)
This is NOT a S.A.S.S. sponsored forum and there are NO prizes or awards. No results posted here may be construed as final authority in a global fashion as End of Trail provides. That said, neither can a large single match provide the depth of shooter base possible in this forum. A shooter who never could or would travel to even a regional match can participate at their home club, have the results posted here, FREE, and see how they compare with the whole pack. Results will be posted in two 'sorts' for each scenario:
Overall (lowest to highest time)
Category (sort by Category then lowest to highest time)
This is one stage so it is both rank and time scoring.
Any S.A.S.S. club may participate in this World Roundup Scenario site. Join us! Use the standardized format and procedure below, set up and shoot a stage, submit the data to Artic Fox, enjoy the 'world wide competition'.
1. Download, print, and set up one of the scenarios found here at this site on the shooting bay of your choice. In fairness to other clubs, please be exacting as possible in the stage setup. Horizontal placement and depth in the bay are the more critical standards. For the vertical dimension, you do not have to make new target stands. Most clubs have at least three or more heights of stands. Scenarios will be written in the high, middle, low height spec using the SASS standard 16 inch square target. Inform me ASAP if safety issues are encountered in the process. Write your own story if you wish. Take a digital picture of the stage to send in for display here.
2. Shoot the stage as a main match stage. Video recording of this event is not necessary. Contact me if you capture some footage where the style points are off the chart and we need to share it with the 'whole posse'.
3. Take the stage scores from your match scoring, then download and use the standard score sheet. The WR Scoresheet file can be imported into Excel or MS Word as a table. Math cells are not needed. This format must be used, let me know if you need help and do not have MS Word or a Spreadsheet program. (WR Scoresheet is also posted at NumSum, a FREE on-line spreadsheet). If you shoot the same scenario more than once in the match, please send just the lowest score. Copy and paste your data into the following columns:
a. Club Use a 3 to 6 place abbreviation (all caps) for your club name. This will allow keeping track of where your club members rank. I will inform you if there is duplication and a need to change. Put this club name in each row with scoring info.
b. Alias Spell 'em right, they will be posted the way you spell 'em.
c. Cat Category. For standardized scoring purposes, use only the categories and abbreviations established on this site.
d. Time Total stage time including any and all penalties. Include time to hundredths of a second, ie 34.05
4. Email the following to Artic Fox: ( I will send a return email so you know the 'emule express' came through. If you do not receive confirmation, send another copy to Allen Fox.)
a. Name of Scenario and date your club shot it.(ie, Badger Sweep, Nevada Sweep, World Record Stage, etc.)
b. Picture of stage setup (I can resize it if necessary typically using a 500X376 35% compressed jpeg file on the web site)
b. Score Sheet ( Spreadsheet, NumSum, HTML Table, or MS Word Table)(I will compile the results with other clubs and post them on this site)
c. Club information: (There will be a page with participating club links)
1. Club name, Club code mentioned above.
2. Contact person(s)
3. Web site URL, email address, phone number, address, City & State, etc
