Wild Bunch, Logans Ferry(The Wild Bunch categories at Logans Ferry will be Time scored as a separate match.) We will adhere to the SASS Wild Bunch Rules outlined in the October 2010 SASS Wild Bunch Handbook, with the following exceptions and variations. 2 Categories: Traditional and Modern. No gender based categories. Traditional is shot single handed only. Any Pump Shotgun permitted. Will be loaded at the Loading Table with up to 4 rounds in the tube. All Wild Bunch shotguns will be staged with the action closed and hammer down on empty chamber, if it’s a hammered shotgun Any SASS legal rifle and caliber permitted All lead ammo only! No exceptions! 1911 gun belts and holsters will be leather or canvas, or a combination of both. No plastic or nylon materials permitted. The holster must cover the entire length of the barrel and slide from the muzzle to the ejection port. No open front speed holsters allowed. No shoulder or cross-draw holsters may be used during competition. If a holster has a flap or strap they need not be closed during competition. All magazines to be carried on the stage are to be loaded at the Loading Table, and verified by the Loading Officer. This includes spare magazines that will be carried while competing. If loaded magazines can be absolutely verified for bullet type and round count, that’s acceptable. In preparation to shoot the stage, and while at the Loading Table, the magazine is to be inserted in the 1911, but DO NOT cycle the pistol. The pistol will be cycled on the clock. After the pistol sequence, and unless otherwise specified, the 1911 will be restaged on the designated table/prop with slide locked open. Magazine can be in or out of the pistol. If a cocked pistol is holstered the shooter will receive a Stage DQ. If a split pistol sequence occurs, with no firearm change between the split, (moving from one pistol position to another pistol position) the shooter may have the 1911 in hand with slide open. When moving with the 1911 in hand, after the pistol has been charged, the slide must be locked open and the trigger finger must be outside the trigger guard. (Trigger finger, MSV; slide closed, SDQ). If a split sequence occurs with a different firearm between the pistol split, the 1911 will be restaged per stage instructions. Moving with a loaded magazine that’s inserted in the pistol is permitted. Moving with a round under the hammer is NOT permitted and will be assessed a Stage DQ. |
