Wild Bunch
We will adhere to the SASS Wild Bunch guidelines with
the following exceptions:
- We’re permitting any
Pump Shotgun, hammered or hammerless, new or old, except pre 1897
originals. Only Pump Shotguns will be allowed in this category! Unless
stated otherwise, shotguns will be loaded at the loading table with the
designated shotgun round count, not to exceed four rounds. Extra rounds
may be carried for dropped ammo or misses.
- Only 1911 style
pistols allowed, and in .45 ACP caliber. Our standard will allow barrel
lengths shorter than 5 inches, but not longer. SASS allows only 5 inch
barrel only for Traditional, and 5 inches or greater for Modern. All
other SASS 1911 standards will apply.
- The Wild Bunch
category will not be broken into gender or age based variations. We
will offer three categories: Traditional, Modern, and Wild Bunch Josey
Wales. The Josey Wales category will permit the shooter to use the 1911
to engage pistol and rifle targets, but not the shotgun targets. Only
one pistol is permitted, so additional magazines will be required to
shoot WB Josey Wales. Shotgun targets will be engaged with shotgun
only. Modern and Traditional categories will be based on the SASS
guidelines with regards to shooting styles, and equipment is based on
the Logans Ferry guidelines.
- SASS Wild Bunch
guidelines allow only .40 caliber or greater rifle caliber. We are
allowing any SASS/CAS approved rifle and caliber. In addition, SASS
states that there is no penalty for overloading the rifle. We strongly
discourage overloading the rifle (more rounds than needed for the round
count), since that can lead to serious safety issues and penalties for
leaving rounds chambered, or rounds left on the carrier.
- The Wild Bunch
categories will be Time scored as a separate match.
Absolutely no ammo with jacketed, semi
jacketed, or gas checks permitted. Lead only bullets permitted!
